Enchanting Kerala

Kerala state is known for its unique products like Backwaters and Ayurveda. Adventure tourism, plantation holidays and monsoon holidays add more glory to the state. A public private partnership initiative – Dream Season, provided an opportunity for holiday makers. Kerala’s main attraction lies in its backwaters, places like Alapuzha and Kottayam are known for their Back waters and House boats. But there is lot more to see in the state. It sure gives variety to the adventurous travelers as well as seeker of serenity.

Kerala’s Natural beauty comes out for its eye catching and beautiful Hill stations like Munnar, Idukki, Kasargod, and Wayanad are very popular honey moon destinations in south india. Also known for its godly powers, black magic and witch craft practice is very common in the state, there are lots of pilgrimage spots where one seeks relief from theirs woes, Thrissur and Sabarimala are two of the places very well known and most commonly worshiped and believed in.

Kerala has its bit of wildlife in Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Eravikulam National Park, Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary, Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary, Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary, Peechi Vazhani Wildlife Sanctuary, Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary, Periyar/Thekkady Wildlife Sanctuary, Rajamala Wildlife Sanctuary, Shendurni Wildlife Sanctuary, Silent Valley national Park, Thattekad Bird Sanctuary and Waynad Wildlife Sanctuary. 

 Beaches

Kerala beaches probably take the back seat because of back waters, but the entire 900 Km stretch of Kerala coast line is lined with sandy beaches, rocky promontories and coconut palms that definitely merit a visit in every tourist itinerary. Touring the beach sites of Kovalam can make any beach holiday a delightful one, as Kerala’s beaches are renowned for the gentle surf and blue waters. Marai beach is one of the local fishing villages, completely new to holiday makers, endless miles of superb sand beaches backed by swaying palms, virgin territory, local charm and traditional Kerala. Kumarakom beach is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake, part of Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary spread across 14 acres is a favorite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist’s paradise. Birds include Egrets, darters, herons, teal, waterfowl, cuckoo, wild duck and migratory birds like the Siberian storks.
